Evangelina Vasquez was born in Irapuato, Guanajuato Mexico,
where she was educated in a Catholic school and spent all of
her childhood and part of her youth.
Vasquez came to Los Angeles
with her husband in 1971 and began a new life with three
daughters and the writing of poetry, which she was introduced
to when taking Carol Lem's classes in Literature and Creative
Writing at East Los Angeles College.
She has poems published in the college journal,
MILESTONE, and POETRY/L.A.
